CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C- The barbeque is back on tomorrow for the residents of the Seth Norton retirement home.
A bbq was stolen from the low-income residence over the weekend, just before the seniors held their monthly outdoor cookout, scheduled for Thursday this week.

After a Facebook post on the Campbell River Rant and Rave, Jack VanderHyde, a member of the group, offered to give the seniors his own barbeque.
“I saw the rant and felt sorry for these people, they’re on fixed incomes, so I thought, I have a BBQ that I hardly ever use. I’ll just give it to them,” said VanderHyde.
“I just hope they make good use of it, I’m glad they have it.”
Ann Justin, a resident at Seth Norton, said the gift was a blessing and they hoped to have it ready for their monthly meetup tomorrow.
Justin said the thankful seniors wanted to send a card to VanderHyde, but he said it wasn’t necessary, and that “paying it forward” is what he was raised to do.
