COMOX VALLEY, B.C. – More than 3,000 of British Columbia’s best young athletes will compete at this year’s Summer Games in Cowichan.
The Comox Valley is sending down a multitude of athletes in eight different sports to represent the region this summer.
Seven will be competing in athletics:
• Hugo Henkel
• Kailey Horel
• Chantal Morfitt
• Victoria Porcher
• Meghan Sheehan
• Liam Potts
• Ethan Tansky
Three athletes will hit the basketball court:
• Myles Douglas
• Ashlyn Smart
• Emma Warren
Jordan Vincent will compete in the lacrosse competitions, as well as Evan Black.
Ally Howard and Anja Leikermoser will be in the sailing events.
Four Comox Valley soccer players will compete:
• Logan Williams
• Olivia Jean
• Sydney Sunderland
• Abby Duncan
Graham Tattrie and Jordan Raume will be in the swimming events.
Jade Blouin-Comeau will be in the triathlon, with Gracie Walls competing in volleyball.
Tristan MacLean will serve as adult supervisor for boys’ soccer. Lynda Magor is the triathlon head coach. Sheila Van Gisbergen will serve as a golf official. Stuart Lyon is an assistant coach for boys’ soccer, with Riley Murray serving as head coach.
Merville’s Madeleine Ramsay will be an official for synchronized swimming.
