COURTENAY, B.C. – Drivers are urged to avoid the area of 17th Street through much of tomorrow as summer roadwork continues.
Due to weather, some repaving work on 17th Street originally scheduled for last week has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, July 4 (weather permitting).
The intersection at 17th Street and McPhee Avenue and a section of Lewis Avenue just south of 17thStreet will be closed to all traffic.
These full road closures will take place between 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to reduce the impact to commuters, according to the City of Courtenay.
Traffic will be detoured off of 17th Street during the closure of the McPhee intersection.
Traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists within the work area.
