COWICHAN VALLEY, B.C. – Thousands of athletes from across the province went head-to-head this weekend as part of the 2018 BC Summer Games.

The Comox Valley’s Chantal Morfitt earned bronze in the Girls’ Hammer event with a score of 35.84. Courtenay’s Victoria Porcher was also a part of the silver medal winning Girls 4 x 100 metre Relay event in Zone 6.
In sailing, the Comox duo of Anja Leikermoser and Ally Howard earned gold in the Girls 420 final.
Campbell River’s Luke Dirom represented the North Island well. He earned gold in the Boys Javelin athletics event, with a score of 48.51.
Kaitlyn Jinda also earned gold in the Girls 69 kg wrestling event.
