COMOX VALLEY, B.C. – Expedia has released its list of the top Canadian travel destinations for baby boomers. Baby boomers are people born between 1946 and 1964.
The Comox Valley placed 11th on the list. Expedia’s survey pointed out the interest in local wineries and the growing distillery scene, as well as the endless number of golf courses available in the region.
“We conducted a survey in late 2017 for 2018 recommendations, and found that baby boomers absolutely loved Vancouver Island–and wine,” said Expedia’s Jennifer Cuellar.
“Given the number of times these trends came up, we knew we had to highlight Comox Valley for its wine and spirits scene, as well as its gorgeous views.”
The Canadian Tourism Institute reports that the baby boom generation is poised to become the main travel market in the next decade by spending roughly $35 billion annually.
