NORTH ISLAND, B.C. – A wind warning is currently in effect from Courtenay to Campbell River.
According to Environment Canada, there is a strong low pressure system from the Pacific that will bring winds of up to 70 km/h tonight, lasting until after midnight.
Overnight, Environment Canada predicts that the winds will ease, but will switch to gusty winds from the southwest that will continue through Sunday morning.
The coming high winds may toss loose objects, break tree branches, and cause some damage to buildings.
