Fallen tree knocks out power across much of Texada Island

TEXADA ISLAND, B.C- Around 837 people are without power on Texada Island this morning.

According to BC Hydro, the outage is running from Blubber Bay south towards the middle of the island. The cause is a tree down on power lines.

Crews are now on-site, and there is no estimated time of restoration.

A planned outage is also affecting Hornby Island, with power expected back on by 9:00 a.m.
