Chalk another one up for CFB Comox crews, in airlifting an ailing cruise ship passenger to hospital for medical treatment. Base spokesperson Captain Trevor Reid has details on Monday’s response off the northern tip of Vancouver Island.
Reid says the female patient was flown to 19 Wing Comox, and then transported by BC Ambulance crews to local hospital in Comox. Just the day before on Sunday, 19 Wing crews responded to an ailing passenger, also on a Norwegian Cruise Lines ship in the Brooks Peninsula area. The patient was flown to Port Hardy for medical assistance. That ship was bound for Alaska.
