COURTENAY, B.C- A home in Courtenay’s west end was searched as part of a drug raid earlier this week.
According to the Comox Valley RCMP, the detachment’s drug section has been conducting a trafficking investigation that resulted in the residence being searched on the evening of December 10, in the 1000 block of Piercy Avenue.
“At approximately 9:45 p.m. the members of the Comox Valley RCMP, assisted by members of the Emergency Response Team entered the residence to execute a search warrant,” read a news release from the detachment.
“Several people inside the residence were arrested by police.”
After the arrests, officers remained at the residence for several hours locating, collecting, and seizing evidence to support criminal charges.
“A significant quantity of what is believed to be controlled substances as defined by the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act was seized,” read the release.
Samples will be forwarded to Health Canada for further testing. The Comox Valley RCMP anticipate recommending several charges of trafficking in a controlled substance as the investigation continues.”
RCMP have confirmed three people are likely to face charges.
