COMOX, B.C- Seal Bay Regional Park will be changing over the next 20 years, according to the Comox Valley Regional District.
The district’s board of directors met Tuesday night to discuss the latest management plan update for the park and decided to give approval to a 20 year plan presented by staff.
Under the plan, changes will be coming to the park as soon as this summer.

Doug DeMarzo, the CVRD’s Manager of Parks, said that lots of changes are included with the plan but they want to focus on the priorities first.
“We’re looking at the Hardy road parking lot for late spring-early summer, and the way finding signage by the end of the year, as well as the one trail upgrade hopefully within this year as well,” said DeMarzo.
He added that the Management Plan Update will extend all the way until 2038.
“It’s a long-term process and this really provides the direction for parks staff for the next 20 years or so.”
