COMOX, B.C – The Comox Firefighters Association has donated $2,000 to the Francophone Youth Council of B.C, and will help support the upcoming Francophone Games in Comox.
According to a release from the Comox Fire department, the funding will assist in making the games a success, and benefit the students participating.
The Francophone Games will be taking place at Ecole Au-coeur-de-l’ile school located behind the Comox Fire Station, on May 17th to 20th.
The games will give students the opportunity to interact with other students from around the province and share their sport and artistic talents, while growing their leadership skills.
Comox fire chief Gord Schreiner said in the release that he is happy to support the school.
“We are pleased to be able to support one of our closest neighbours (Ecole Au-coeur-de-l’ile school) with this important event.”
The funds donated by the Comox firefighters come from their “Pay it Forward” account which is created from funds raised through their Comox Fire Training Centre.
