NORTH VANCOUVER ISLAND, B.C – A missing man from Surrey has still not been located, and was last seen in Courtenay on March 27th.
Stephen Mapes was first reported missing to the Surrey RCMP on April 2nd, and he is described as a six foot tall white man with a slim build.
He is believed to be linked to a black Ford F-150 pickup, with BC license plate DOGRVR.
Mapes’ sister Kristene says RCMP have been trying to locate him via his cell phone, but haven’t been able to pinpoint his location.
“We’ve been trying his cell phone, but it’s been going straight to voicemail, he hasn’t turned it on since March 28th,” she said.
She added that they want to make sure he gets home safely.
“At this point we need to find him to make sure he’s okay.”
Mapes was last seen at the Best Western in Courtenay.
