COMOX VALLEY, B.C- The Comox Valley Regional District will be repairing the stairs at Goose Spit Park this week, and residents should expect closures in the area.
According to the CVRD, the stairs between Goose Spit park and Yates Road will be closed at irregular intervals on Thursday, May 23rd and Friday, May 24th for repairs.
They are asking residents to stay clear of the staircase when trail closed signs are posted. The portion of Nob Hill, between Yates Road and Moore Road will remain open during this period.
The CVRD is also beginning work on a new trail in Seal Bay Park.
It will create a new loop option on the west side of Bates Road, and will connect Bridges trail to Twinflower, crossing the Swamp Loop in two locations.
The CVRD has said crew and equipment will be on the trails from May 28th to June 7th.
During construction residents can expect equipment and crew on the trail with some loud noise. No trees are being cut down to create the new trail.
