COMOX, B.C – The Comox Valley Airport is launching ‘Island Good,’ which is an initiative that will focus on showcasing local Vancouver Island food, drinks, and art.
The idea was developed by the Vancouver Island Economic Association (VIEA), and focuses on local products on Vancouver Island.
They will be hosting an event on Wednesday to showcase what Island Good includes.
Comox Valley Airport CEO Fred Bigelow said that the airport is perfect place to showcase everything that’s great about Vancouver Island.
Bigelow added that vendors such as Gladstone, Forth Haven Farms, and Portafino Bakery will be at the event to provide food and drinks.
He also said that its important to have initiatives like this, because it helps the local community.
“It’s making sure those products are sold locally, it keeps that money in the community.”
“Whether it’s those who live there, or for those who are visiting, it’s a chance for tourists to be exposed to something they might not otherwise, and I think they will be as pleased with them as we are.”
The Island Good brand mark event runs May 22nd from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the airport.
