The Comox Valley Airport has added a new feature to its terminal.
The airport has installed a public bike repair station near the arrivals doors.
The stand can accommodate two bikes at a time and features all the tools necessary to assemble a bike.
It also includes a dual tire pump.
Airport CEO Fred Bigelow says the repair station was installed to accommodate the increase in cyclists within the valley.
“With the growing popularity of cycle tours and the incredible trail networks within our catchment, we want to support this sector by providing a convenient site to assemble bikes on arrival. YQQ is already a popular meeting spot for local cyclists, and we hope they and other cycling commuters will avail themselves of this handy bike repair station,” said Bigelow.
To celebrate the new upgrades to the terminal, the airport will be hosting a ribbon-cutting this Friday at 11:30am.
