Drivers will see major delays along 5th street this week as inspections of the underground storm and sanitary sewers take place.
Starting Wednesday, 5th Street between Leighton Avenue and Fitzgerald Avenue will be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic.
While the contractor completes his video inspections of the underground storm and sanitary sewers temporary road closures could take place as well.
The city says sections of sidewalk and bike lanes in and around the work zones could also be closed.
The inspection is expected to be completed by Friday.
The city adds that during the lane closures on the 5th, there may be additional minor road repairs in the area.
Traffic control personnel will be on hand to assist all commuters and emergency vehicles.
