Federal Green Party leader Elizabeth May is touring the Central Island on Thursday.
May will be speaking at a rally at Campbell River’s Spirit Square from 9:00am to 9:45am.
After that, she’ll be meeting with party volunteers at Powell River-North Island Green candidate Mark de Bruijn’s office in Comox.
The meet-and-greet starts at 10:30 a.m. at the office at 276 Anderton Road
De Bruijn said he is looking forward to the visit.
“She’s the Party Leader, she covers the entire country, there are 338 ridings engaged in this election, every one of them has a Green MP, so the fact that she’s able to squeeze in a visit to all the Vancouver Island ridings the week before the election is super exciting for us.”
Later in the day, May will be stopping by the Courtenay Greens office at 470 5th St. at roughly 1:20pm.
Sean Wood is running for the Green Party in the Courtenay-Alberni riding.
May is also scheduled to make an announcement in Qualicum Beach just after lunchtime.
Federal election day is Oct. 21.
