The Wounded Warrior Run caps off today. Runners stopped at various communities on the North Island including the Comox Valley as part of their 6-day journey from the top to the bottom of the Island.
Along the way they raised awareness about PTSD, and the resources available to help Canadian veterans struggling with mental health issues.
Run Director Ron Mireau says they met people who are still reluctant to admit their inner battles.
He says the run’s message strongly resonated when they visited 442 Squadron in Comox.
Mireau says they raised more than 16-thousand dollars for Wounded Warriors Canada.
You can find out more about the run and the organization at the Wounded Warrior Run BC website.
