Chalk another one up for Campbell River Search and Rescue crews!
At around noon on Sunday, crews were called out to help BC Ambulance crews with a medical evacuation from Ripple Rock Trail.
A 63-year-old man had fallen and suffered chest injuries.
Once crews arrived they found the hiker laying on the beach at Nymph Cove.
Both coast guard and helicopter crews were called in.

Campbell River Search and Rescue Manager Grant Cromer provides more details, including the dispatching of a coast guard vessel as part of the rescue.
Cromer adds that Campbell River Search and Rescue is expecting a busy season with the recent weather being so mild in the area.
