Road work in East Courtenay starting Monday

Road Work in East Courtenay June 23 to 27

Starting Monday, June 23, 2014, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, contractors will be sealing road cracks in two East Courtenay areas:

  • Neighbourhood between Ryan Road and McDonald Road, east of Lerwick (Crown Isle area)
  • Mission Road and surrounding roads

The work will be completed by Friday, June 27, weather permitting.

The work will result in temporary lane closures. Traffic control personnel will be on hand to assist all commuters, including cyclists.

Please use caution and obey traffic control personnel and posted traffic signs.

There will be noise generated by the crew and equipment during construction.

We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience.

Why is crack sealing important?

Crack sealing prevents excess water or moisture from getting underneath the asphalt. This prevents further cracking and prolongs the pavement’s lifespan.

Questions or concerns? Please contact the City of Courtenay Public Works Division at 250-338-1525.
