There’s lots on the agenda for Courtenay council tonight.
The City will consider moving forward on a project to install electric vehicle charging stations at the Lewis Centre, City hall, and at 6th street and England avenue.
The City would get help from the province to construct the stations, but the ongoing electrical costs to the City are around $20,000 a year.
The agenda includes a presentation from Comox Valley Community Health Network to provide an update on the development of a Community Substance Use Strategy.
The group will be talking about the impact the ongoing opioid epidemic has had on the community.
B.C’s Chief Coroner, Lisa Lapointe says January was the 10th month in a row that witnessed more than one-hundred overdose deaths from toxic illicit drugs in BC.
Also on the list is a rezoning bylaw for a new apartment complex and townhouses on Mission Road.
