Courtenay council approves new 93-room hotel near Chances Casino

A new hotel is coming to an empty lot on Hunt Road in Courtenay, and it’s bringing close to 50 full-time jobs along with it.

On Monday (May 17th), city council unanimously approved the 93-unit, 55,818 square foot Holiday Inn Express Hotel for the corner of Hunt and Ryan Road, across from Chances Casino.

As proposed, the hotel will be a four-storey wood-frame building with an indoor swimming pool and fitness facility, a multi-purpose meeting room (with around 100 seats), a breakfast bar, 12 bike stalls, and 97 parking stalls with 10 electric vehicle stalls.

My Comox Valley Now will provide more updates on this project when available.
