Lots of sunshine in the forecast and while that’s great news for sun worshipers and outdoor enthusiasts, there are growing concerns on this summer’s fire hazard.
Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner says summer has basically come two months early and that there have been several large fires on the Island because of those hot conditions.
Schreiner many of the summer season fires are human caused so people need to be extremely cautious with campfires and discarding their smokes. If you have any concerns, contact the Comox Fire Department.
