A local craft fair is hoping to turn some heads, online this year.
The LINC Youth Centre will be doing its annual youth craft fair for the second year in a row, according to a press release from the City of Courtenay Friday.
The fair features arts and crafts including sewing, jewellery and stocking stuffers made by young people aged 9 to 19-years-old.
Assistant manager of arts and leisure programs Alexis Forbes said they decided to go virtual again after last year’s success, nearly doubling in size for the online fair.
“We had a successful experience last year online with some great featured work from youth, so we decided to continue the format this year,” said Forbes.
“Although we really hoped we would be able to return to an in-person event, we decided to keep the craft fair online this year because of the ever-changing restrictions and the fact that we start planning and advertising for special events sometimes six months in advance.”
Forbes also said the online event allows for people to share their Facebook pages and websites, take electronic payments and custom orders.
The fair is scheduled to run from Nov. 23 to Dec. 15. Tables for crafters are still available, according to the city.
