That bone-chilling swim that takes place every year will be going virtual this year.
The Town of Comox announced Tuesday that the 45th annual Polar Bear Swim will be taking place virtually for 2021. They say that the decision was made because of community safety concerns.
The event will relaunch as an individual or family event, and the town still dares its residents to prove their brr-avery.
“The 45th annual Polar Bear Swim is a little different than usual this year,” said Comox recreation programmer Heather Bailey. “But you can still brave the chilly waters around Comox, or wherever you are, with a post-Christmas dip and share it with the world!”
Photos of the swim can be submitted to Comox between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1 for a chance to win a one-month pass to the Fitness Studio and other giveaways.
Prizes will be awarded on Jan. 6. To enter the competition, submit photos to Instagram or to [email protected].
