There has been quite a recent spike in cases of kennel cough in the Comox Valley, says local vet Doctor David MacDonald, who says the canine disease can spread very rapidly.
Doctor MacDonald says cases of kennel cough tend to take a jump in the summer months.
Fortunately the outbreak appears to be easing up in recent days, after a cluster of cases earlier on, according to Doctor MacDonald.
Doctor MacDonald says normally the disease simply runs its course, and no treatment is required, however he has recently treated a number of dogs for the condition.
