The Comox Valley Community Foundation has announced an upcoming workshop that’s coming to Courtenay.
The workshop is intended for people serving on Comox Valley, not-for-profit and charitable boards and senior staff.
The Introduction to Board Governance Best Practices workshop will be facilitated by Colin Sauer of The Governance Group.
The topics included in the workshop are the Governance Game, the three important elements for effective and successful boards, and orientation to the ‘Governing Effectively’ training booklet.
Along with reviewing and discussing the ‘Governing Principles’ for Board Directors, the roles and responsibilities of the Board, the Board Directors, the Board Chair, and the Executive Director, as well as the fiduciary duty and conflict of interest guidelines for board directors, they will also involve the building a Leadership Partnership between the Board and the Executive Director.
The workshop is free to attend and is set to take place on Monday, January 9th from 9:00 A.M.-1:00 PM at the Native Sons Hall.
