With International Womens Day on its way, the Town of Comox is organizing a free workshop dedicated to the day.
Facilitated by recently retired RCMP officer Deb Roger, the goal of this upcoming workshop is to raise awareness on topics including gender bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
According to the town, Roger’s two-decade stint with the RCMP will allow residents to learn more about potential scenarios that women face and how to avoid or overcome them.
Heather Bailey, the recreation programmer for the Town of Comox, says this workshop can do a lot of good for the community.
“We welcome everyone to attend, to gain insight, learn from experiences, support each other and the challenges women face regarding gender equity,” says Bailey.
The free workshop is scheduled for March, and will be held in the Comox Community Centre from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Registration is still required. For more information, you can visit the Comox Community Centre’s website.
