A popular local recreational area in the Comox Valley, Stotan Falls, has been shut down by the property owners, Nanaimo based 3-L Developments, due to the high fire hazard.
Company spokesperson Kabel Atwell says a small blaze could easily spread quickly, with minimal rainfall this past spring and even winter…
Atwell says a few years back somebody torched a log in the area and they can’t afford to take any risks this summer with tinder dry conditions.
Atwell says the closure is in no way linked to his dispute with the CVRD, on his proposed residential development in the Stotan Falls area.
