Victoria Day celebrations are on the way to Cumberland.
Currently Cumberland’s ‘From Coal to Cool’ program will be holding several events dedicated to celebrating Victoria Day, according to Cumberland Events Society.
These events include a soap box derby, the annual Washoe tournament, a market day, family dance and beer garden all taking place on Saturday, May 20.
Sunday’s events will see a doggie fashion show, music from Baby Face Brass, and old-times soccer, with Monday holding the annual parade.
The society says multiple street closures are going to be in effect that weekend, with 2nd Street from Windemere Avenue to Penrith Avenue closed from 9 am to 3 pm next Saturday. Multiple areas near Dunsmuir Avenue will also be closed on Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm and from 7 am to 5 pm on Monday.
The events will last from Saturday to Monday next week.
