A new executive director will lead the Comox Valley Community Foundation starting this summer.
The foundation says Jolean Finnerty has been appointed to the position and will start the role after July 1. They say Finnerty comes from a background in fund development, granting, leadership and communications.
She previously worked with the foundation as a donor engagement manager and with North Island College as the manager of advancement and foundation.
Foundation president Christine Helpard adds they are looking forward to working with her to grow the foundation and benefit the community.
Finnerty adds it is a role she feels honoured to serve.
“I look forward to continuing and growing the incredible work of our Community Foundation alongside partners, donors, and grantees as well as local business, leadership, and the many non-profit organizations working tirelessly for the betterment of our people, environments, and community as a whole,” said Finnerty.
More information about the foundation can be found on their website.
