The Cumberland Community Schools Society is asking for temporary support for their Food Share Program.
At Monday’s council meeting, the Society gave a report to council on the program, with the goal behind the report being to present different funding options.
The Society is asking for continued support from the village, in the range of 10 to 13,000 per year over a five-year-period back in June.
Chief Financial Officer Annie Bérard says that while the society is looking for other funding sources and new partnerships, they are recommending temporary support from the Village in the meantime.
“Staff recommend a conditional two-year grant funding agreement in the amount of $10,000 per year, funded from the Host Amenity Funds Reserve,” says Bérard.
She adds that while this is a two-year grant being proposed, the Society could make another report to the council with more recommendations for funding.
