Stolen skateboard recovered by off-duty officer in Courtenay

An off-duty Comox Valley RCMP officer returned a skateboard to its rightful owner in Courtenay.

in June, a skateboard was reported stolen from a business on Cliffe Ave. The board was a Zoo York masterpiece adorned by pink flamingos and blue patterns valued at $350.

An off-duty officer spotted someone riding the stolen skateboard, took it away from the person and returned it to its owner.

Inspector and Officer in Charge for the Comox Valley RCMP Mike Kurvers says the officer’s efforts embody the spirit of the officers that serve the Valley.

“This serves as a reminder of the positive impact that individual officers can have on our community, both on and off duty,” says Kurvers.
