A free event set to celebrate diversity and inclusion is coming to the Comox Valley this month.
The Pride in the Park Event, hosted by the Pride Society of the Comox Valley, will be a family-friendly festival with a focus on food, live music, and fun.
Pride Society board member Marusha Taylor said that celebrating pride isn’t just a party, but it’s also an assertion of the right to love.
“It’s a statement that echoes through generations, reminding us that our queer community’s journey is one of resilience, courage, and boundless love,” said Taylor.
The event will not only have food vendors, but also community information booths, and stalls for people to buy unique items.
It’s set to run on Saturday August 26 at the Simms Millenium Park, right after the first Pride Parade set on the same day.
