Local non-profit organizations can apply for funding from a total $441,360 to address needs like programs, services, operating activities and initiatives.
That’s from the Comox Valley Community Foundation, who add the grant funding will be distributed through five streams:
- $75,000 to address housing insecurity and homelessness
- $50,000 to support recreation and social programming for adults with diverse abilities
- $50,000 to support environmental initiatives
- $20,000 to assist with charitable/not-for-profit sector education and training
- $236,369 to address four other areas of priority like food insecurity and systems, mental health and connection, Indigenous led or benefitting projects/organizations
President Christine Helpard says the funding would not be possible with donations from the community.
“This annual funding would not exist without the generosity and caring of so many individuals, families and businesses who give through the Community Foundation,” said Helpard. “Granting decisions will continue to follow a community-based approach through five granting streams.”
Grant applications will be accepted until Sept. 21. More information can be found on the foundation’s website.
