Your dog can enjoy a swim of its own on Labour Day Weekend.
The City of Courtenay has announced that on Saturday, Courtenay Recreation will hold a dog swim at the Outdoor Pool to cap off the season. The Pooch-A-Poolooza Dog Swim’s admission is five dollars, with all the proceeds going to the SPCA.
The city says you should bring proof of rabies vaccination for your dogs ahead of time, and that they must be friendly.
If you have a smaller dog or puppy, the wading and big pools will be open for dogs of all sizes, with Van Isle Veterinary Clinic staff set to be on-site to make sure all the dogs remain safe.

The swim will run from 11 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon.
