After serving as Chief Administrative Officer for more than six years, Russel Dyson has officially retired.
The Comox Valley Regional District announced his retirement on Friday, with the district saying that along with his work for them, he also served other roles for the community.
This included serving as CAO of both the Comox Strathcona Regional Hospital District and Comox Strathcona Waste Management Board, while serving as secretary for North Island 911.
During his tenure, the Comox Valley Water Treatment Project was finished, he helped guide the Sewer Conveyance Project with council, and developed a working relationship with K’ómoks First Nation and the district’s Indigenous relations framework.
The district adds they are grateful for his leadership and service.
No information was given on their search for someone to replace Dyson.
