Some good news for Port Hardy residents forced to leave their homes from that major weekend wildfire activity.
Mayor Hank Bood says Coastal Fire Centre crews have made significant progress…and residents can return home at 8 p.m. tonight (Sunday).
Bood says the larger fire continues to burn, but winds have blown the blaze away from town so that has helped reduce the risk to the community.
Bood send out kudos to all the dedicated firefighers battling the the wildfires.

Residents are being told remain on evacuation alert, just in case an evacation order is issued again.
