City of Courtenay Parks crews snuffed out a small brush fire along the railway line, near 17th and McPhee this afternoon.
Courtenay Fire officials say when they arrived on the scene, the blaze, which had torched a small patch of grass, was already out, but crews doused it with water to ensure it was fully extinguished.
No word yet from fire officials on the cause.
