You can attend any of five in-person open houses or online sessions to provide feedback on the CVRD’s Regional Parks and Trails Strategic Plan.
The district says they got valuable input in the first phase to shape the emerging direction for how the CVRD might plan the future of parks and trails in the Comox Valley over the next 20 years.
Phase two is starting, and the district says it will focus on sharing the emerging directions broadly with the community, listening to ideas and understanding community priorities for the future.
In-person meetings will be held as follows:
- Jan. 24 – Cumberland Chamber from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Jan. 30 – Union Bay Community Hall from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Jan. 31 – Comox Community Centre Room A from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Feb. 6 – Courtenay Florence Filberg Centre (Conference Hall) from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Feb. 7 – Merville Community Hall from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
A virtual information session will also be held on Zoom from 12 to 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 8. Registration is required.
“Feedback is central to this process, including hearing from K’ómoks First Nation representatives, local and regional interest groups, and the general public,” said Regional Parks and Trails Committee chair Daniel Arbour.
“We hope to see many Comox Valley residents provide their views on the priorities for the new regional parks service.”
The district says all feedback gathered during engagement in January and February will be key to drafting the plan in the spring. They add phase three of the plan should start in the summer.
