Changes coming to transit system this spring due to construction

Starting this spring, BC Transit and the Comox Valley Regional District are making changes to bus routes and times to accommodate construction.

The changes are in response to the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project, which aims to replace pipes and upgrade pump stations.

Because the work will see traffic disruptions in Comox, the district and BC Transit have made a new schedule to keep service running for the community.

This will be implemented in a phased approach. Changes include running Route 1 to Comox Mall/Anfield Centre every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., slightly lowering service on Route 3 to Comox Local, adjusting trip times for Routes 4 and 15, and changing the schedules of other routes.

They encourage you to use the bus to avoid traffic congestion.

The changes will be in effect on April 1.
