Take your dad and go fly a kite for Father’s Day.
The City of Courtenay says the 34th annual Father’s Day Kite Fly is happening at Goose Spit Park, where dads, moms, grandparents, friends, and kids can fly their kites on the beach.
While they encourage you to bring your own kite, they ask you to be aware of power lines and to avoid them.
Along with the kites, there will be prizes and trophies you can win including peoples’ choice, stunt kite, oldest pilot, largest kite, hard-luck flyer, and homemade kite.
