UPDATE: As of 4:15 p.m., power has returned to all affected customers in Courtenay and Cumberland

Over 1,950 BC Hydro customers in the Comox Valley are without power as of this afternoon.
According to BC Hydro, 1958 customers have lost power just before 1:00 p.m. today, affecting residents in both Courtenay and Cumberland north of Road, east of Munster Road, and south of Vanier Drive.
Because of the outages, the Lewis Centre, Florence Filberg Centre, and the outdoor pool at Lewis Park are all closed.

They say the cause behind the outages are under investigation, and crews are on their way to the affected areas.
