Stage 2 water restrictions coming to Comox Valley next month

Water restrictions are soon being enhanced for Comox Valley residents.

Beginning on July 1, Stage 2 water restrictions will be in effect for Black Creek-Oyster Bay and the Comox Valley water systems.

Kris La Rose, senior manager of water and wastewater services for the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD), said it’s time for community members to step up and do their part to preserve water.

“With summer here and drought conditions increasing, we all need to do our part the conserve water use.”

Stage 2 water restrictions allow watering and sprinkling for lawns and gardens between 6:00 – 8:00 a.m., and 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. only for two days a week.

Even numbered addresses can use water on their lawns during those hours on Tuesday and Saturday, while odd addresses are permitted on Wednesday and Sunday only.

Stage 1 water restrictions are currently in effect and allow for two extra hours total for sprinkling and an extra day for both even and odd numbered addresses.
