With Canada Day just over a week away, the City of Courtenay has announced their plans for the community to celebrate.
Starting on Sunday, June 30, the Night Before Concert will be held at Lewis Park starting at 4 p.m.
The Timebenders are headlining the show and will feature Indigenous and multicultural performances followed by the Sean Grieve Committee.
The next day, Canada’s birthday festivities begin at 9 a.m. in Downtown Courtenay with the Comox Valley Concert Band at Randy Wiwchar Plaza.
The 5th Street mile follows the performance beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the parade down 5th Street begins at 10.
After the parade ends, activities shift back to Lewis Park at 11 a.m. for a family day of fun including vendors, food, and activity booths among other things.
Lyall Steel and Isabell Durand will perform at Lewis Park, followed by headliners West Coast Chicago (WCC).
