No injuries in a Merville area structure fire on Monday night, with Oyster River Fire crews backing up Courtenay firefighters in battling the blaze.
Courtenay Fire Chief Don Bardonnex says fortunately nobody was home when the fire broke out, but the structure is a write off.
Bardonnex says the investigation on the cause continues.
Meanwhile Courtenay Fire Dept crews responded to a “high level” ammonia leak today, at the Saputo Dairyland plant on 28th Street. The plant was evacuated and the leak capped off. There were no injuries and the investigation continues on that incident this morning.
