A recent crypto app scam has RCMP warning people about online scams.
A victim of the scam was called on July 15 by someone claiming to be an Amazon customer support employee and told them to download and install an app used to purchase crypto currency.
Similar frauds have been reported with people claiming to be representatives from various companies trying to steal personal information.
Residents should remain vigilant when receiving phone calls from unidentified numbers and make sure to confirm who is calling before giving away personal information.
