Tourists headed to the Island’s West Coast for the long weekend should continue to expect delays, after a crash closed Highway 4 in both directions this morning.
One lane was re-opened for alternating traffic before noon, but a highway camera near the crash site showed traffic was still backed up in both directions for hours
Drive BC reports the incident was about one kilometre east of the Port Alberni summit.
The highway is now open again in both directions, but drivers should expect traffic congestion this afternoon to continue.
