Be ready for a road closure, as the intersection of Torrence and Lazo Roads will be blocked this coming week.
The Comox Valley Regional District says the closure is for the ongoing Sewer Conveyance Project, a project aiming to upgrade sewer system infrastructure and protect the coastline.
While the work takes place, they say Balmoral Avenue will be re-opened to traffic, with access to Goose Spit coming through Balmoral Avenue to Hawkins Road.
Other changes include Lazo Road south of Guthrie Road not a part of the detour route, with that section only open to local traffic. The detour route is Pritchard Road to Guthrie and down Lazo.
The district says while the closure is in effect, they ask you to plan your routes accordingly and to expect extra travel time.
The work will run from September 16 to 20, with crews working 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day.
