Community members in Cumberland are set to head to the polls this weekend.
A by-election is scheduled for Saturday, September 21 to vote for one of three people to the village council.
Ken Barth, Thea Cockerton, and Nick Ward all received were nominated from August 6 to August 16, and one will be chosen as the next council member.
Ballots open at 8 a.m. and will stay open until 8 p.m. at the Cultural Centre Buchanan Hall.
Voters must be 18 years of age or older, Canadian citizen’s, a B.C. resident of at least six months prior to registration, and either a Cumberland resident or property owner.
Identification must provide evidence of your residence with a photo of you on it, as well as at least one containing your signature.
The next election won’t take place until October 2026, when they will elect a mayor, four councillors, and a school trustee.
